BRIDGE CROSSING REENACTMENT

This is a reenactment of the peaceful protest led by Martin Luther King Jr, which resulted from the "Bloody Sunday" event led by John Lewis and led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 by then president Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Alabama's primary occurs the following Tuesday and with its many local colleges and universities, Huntsville is a great place for such an event. This community-wide event is free to the public and will focus on voting rights, the importance of voting. It is an opportunity for those who can't travel to Selma to show their solidarity and participate locally.
