"Beyond the Rhetoric" Community Discussion Series
Time & Location
About the Event
This discussion is for individuals of voting age who are frustrated by the current two party political process in America and feel that their vote does not matter and/or is not considered when candidates are running for office. This discussion is also for engaged voters who are motivated to collectively speak in a way to both of the major political parties that causes the parties to address voters’ specific needs with reforms and policy initiatives. Current voting trends, minority legislative needs, agendas and potential opportunities for progress will also be discussed.
The mission of the United Women of Color is to unite women of all ethnicities to invest in the civic, social and financial well-being of women, girls, and families. One of the ways we aim to assist in improving self-sufficiency and increase civic engagement is to host a series of community discussions engaging the community in conversations about subjects important to day to day living.
